A Meeting Reaching to the Roots of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants
Held on June 27, 2024, the Medicinal and Aromatic Plants "R&D - Industry" Ecosystem Meeting brought together important names of the sector. The event brought together valuable academics, industry leaders and entrepreneurs working in the field of medicinal and aromatic plants, enabling the sharing of knowledge and experience.
The aim of the event was to increase cooperation between R&D and industry in the medicinal and aromatic plants sector, support innovative projects and raise awareness on sustainability issues. The sessions organized in this context witnessed fruitful discussions and information exchange among the participants.

Murat Çekin: "I believe it will give very useful results"
Among the participants was Murat Dinçer Çekin, Marmara University Faculty Member and project manager of Zeytinburnu Medicinal Plants Garden. In the interview with him, he expressed his views on the effects and importance of this meeting on the sector in the following sentences:
"Medicinal aromatic plants are a subject in Turkey that is not progressing as fast as we would like. I believe that this meeting will yield very useful results in this respect. We are not using the network actively enough. We cannot mobilize collaborations. First, the parties should be able to cooperate with other relevant segments of this field."

As a result, the Medicinal and Aromatic Plants "R&D - Industry" Ecosystem Meeting held on June 27, 2024 provided a promising perspective on the future of the sector and strengthened the cooperation between R&D and industry.
